Hoppy Birthday Card

Hey Krafty Friends, Jen from Katahdin Krafts, back on the blog today with this fun "Hoppy Birthday" card.  I used the "Spring Frog w/ Mushroom" and "Pond w/ Cattails & Lily Pad" dies, from the Easter release to create this adorable frog pond scene.

With my cloud stencil and oxide inks, I created a whimsical sky for my background.  Next, I cut the dies out on Copic marker friendly cardstock, and colored all the pieces.   Finishing off my card, I stamped "Hoppy Birthday" for my sentiment.  I love how these dies work so well together!

I love that Spring is finally in the air!  Even way up here in northern Maine, we can finally see grass!  I can't wait to hear the peepers!  They are sweet music to my ears.  Comment below and share if you know what peepers are?!

Thanks for stopping in and I will see you soon with another fun inspiration.  Take care and happy krafting!

Another Sneak Peek!

Good morning and welcome to The Scrapping Cottage Blog.  I have another little sneaky peeky for you today.  There are some wonderful things headed your way for Valentine's Day from The Scrapping Cottage, and this is one of them.  They will be available for purchase very soon, so get your wish lists made!!  ;)   The postage stamp die is one of my favorites of the coming release, and there are 11 adorable stamp images that can be used in the center of the die cut.  Today I'm using another one of my favorites, and that's this cute little Love Frog.  Isn't she sweet?  I say "she", because there are eyelashes drawn on her, and I even exaggerated those a little more with my black Micron pen.
I embellished the edge of the die cut with some red and white twine, and although it's a little difficult to see, I think you can make out the paper piercing I did around the edge of the image on the red card stock.  The big red bow and pop dots give this lots of dimension, and I found some red metal heart stickers in my stash of goodies to dress up one side of this card.  The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored with Copics.  Is she cute, or what?  No sentiment needed here, because those little froggy arms wrapped around that conversation heart pretty much says it all.

This postage stamp die is so versatile, and makes a wonderful addition to a card, scrapbook page, or altered item.  I'm thinking that images for many holidays would be perfect with this die.  Hmmmmm...  What do YOU think?  Have a blessed day, and a very safe and Happy New Year's celebration!!!!

Love ya,
Lorie

Sweet!!

Oh goodness, I'm loving these adorable little face stamp and die sets. I went a little crazy playing with them as you can see. LOL!! These are just the most fun to work with and the possibilities are limitless. Take a look.

I've added stickles -- who doesn't love stickles?! -- for a little sparkle...

and used the lily pads and cattails from boat and dock die for the grass.

I used these adorable penguins on the inside of this card for the "together" sentiment conveyed on the front.

The peach is one of my favorites from this whole release. I love the size and the face is too cute.

The polka dotted leaves add a sweet touch to the whimsical facial expression.

Here is the little bluebird singing his heart out! What a sweet little birdie he is.

And the frogs! I love the frogs!! In addition, I used the boat and dock die again this time using the cattails along with the lily pads for the froggie's home on the pond.

The bow tie from the penguin die fits Mrs. Frog perfectly....
and stickles add shine to Mr. Frog's crown.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you'll be inspired to make your own creations with these sweet stamp and die sets!

Hang In There!

Good morning friends! For today's card I used Frog with branch, and Snail. I tried Lorie's suggestion and cut out my image with white cardstock. I used Copics to color the die cuts. I freehand cut the clouds with scissors and inked the edges in blue. There are so many adorable dies at The Scrapping Cottage! Click here to take a look.
I apologize for the poor quality picture. The card looks much better in real life.
Have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping by!
